When does wild turkey season start in Ohio?

(WJW) – OhioWild turkey hunting season begins this month, giving hunters a bountiful season.

Last year, Ohio hunters harvested nearly 12,000 wild turkeys during the 2022 spring season.

According to ODNR, eastern and southern counties typically harvest the most turkeys thanks to their forested, turkey-friendly habitats.

The top five counties in 2022 were Ashtabula (348), Tuscarawas (338), Belmont (314), Guernsey (312) and Columbiaa (309).
