Ravens expected to sign Long Snapper Tyler Ott

The Ravens are expected to sign long snapper Tyler Ott, according to KPRC’s Aaron Wilson.

Baltimore reportedly played a lengthy snapper tryout Monday after Nick Moore suffered a torn Achilles tendon in training for the season, according to Jeff Zulebiek of The Athletic.

Moore was named a second-team All-Pro last season, establishing himself as the league’s best full-time long snapper in his second season with the Ravens. Losing him would be a huge blow to the tight-knit Special Forces, who are so diligent about fine-tuning the details.

But Ott is an eight-year veteran and would be a strong replacement as a Pro Bowler in 2020. He was the Seattle Seahawks’ long-time snapper for five seasons (2017-2021), but was sidelined for the season after suffering a shoulder injury just before the start of last season that required surgery.

The Harvard product spent most of its time on the practice teams of the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots before becoming popular in Seattle.
